The night’s eclectic mix of sounds includes the global bass influences of DJ Shivarasa, the ethereal soundscapes of Black Jade, the folk-soul sound of Nora Rothman and the soul-tinged rhythms of Kelleia. Through their art and activism, these artists are proving that the forefront of music will be led by artists who are independent, innovative and inclusive.
About Shivarasa
Sarah Shivarani, known artistically as Shivarasa, is an Iranian-American producer, DJ and sound healer based in Los Angeles. Her music is influenced by global bass, electronic, Middle Eastern music, hip hop and ambient soundscapes. She has played alongside CeeLo Green, Nas and Damien Marley, Cypress Hill, Pusha T, and Snoop Dogg and is the creator of RETURN TO SOUND, a meditative sonic experience that triggers deep relaxation and trance states.
