The night’s eclectic mix of sounds includes the global bass influences of DJ Shivarasa, the ethereal soundscapes of Black Jade, the folk-soul sound of Nora Rothman and the soul-tinged rhythms of Kelleia. Through their art and activism, these artists are proving that the forefront of music will be led by artists who are independent, innovative and inclusive.
About Black Jade
Black Jade is a Chinese-American music producer, vocalist, and songwriter based in Los Angeles. She composes ethereal soundscapes inspired by traditional East Asian music, experimental computer music and contemporary pop, indie, and R&B. In the way that black jade is used in crystal therapy, Black Jade uses her music to inspire more positive states of mind in her listeners.
