Newton's second law can be used to calculate the acceleration that an object will experience, if the net force acting on the object and its mass are known. The law can also be used to determine the net force required to produce a certain acceleration for a known mass. Remember that the force term in Newton's second law refers to the net force on the object.

Sections:
00:00 - Example 1 (acceleration of an elevator)
04:10 - Example 2 (applied force on a sled)
