Tim's Comment: "With the malabar seed processing, I might try a pair of rubbing boards. Basically two squares of plywood with rubber faces cemented onto the surface. You put the seeds on a board and then rub around with the other board, trying to use enough pressure to bust up the fruit without damaging the embryos. The rubber gives you cushioning to protect the embryos and friction to torque off the fruit/pericarp/whatever. When I worked at the a seed lab in college they had professionally made ones with special corrugated rubber, but I bet regular inner tube rubber would work at least OK, maybe less efficient."
