Everyday Cinematic Birds | Newly Hatched Parasite Chick Squeaking for Food @EverydayCinematicBirds | Uploaded July 2022 | Updated October 2024, 17 hours ago.
This cowbird parasite chick had just hatched. Surprisingly it was already making chirping sounds. Most chicks take a few days before they can make a sound. The finches do not realize the chick is an imposter so they feed and care for it as if it was their own chick. Cowbirds are a well know brood parasite meaning they lay their eggs in other nests. They are similar to cuckoos but do not try to throw the other eggs or chicks out of the nest.
