Where can you get up close and personal with a colossal squid, a sea monster from the deep? You might want to pay a visit to Te Papa, New Zealand’s national museum, which contains the world’s only preserved complete colossal squid specimen. This squid was discovered in the Antarctic, and is the heaviest invertebrate in the world, with lengths up to 20 feet and weighing up to a thousand pounds. Now that’s a creature you don’t want to mess with.
