From towers built directly over an interstate highway, to brutalist giants in the Bronx, to entire communities perched on platforms over the East River, New York’s housing experiments are just as bold as its infrastructure. In this video, we’ll explore five of the city’s most fascinating apartment complexes on Google Earth, and ask whether they worked as intended — or were doomed to fail from the very beginning, hopefully they won't collapse like the recent chimney accident.
