But what if some of the most important moments actually happened in New York City?
In this episode of Photowalks, we head to Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn to uncover New York’s surprisingly central role in the American Revolution — from the moment the Declaration of Independence was read aloud to the troops, to the tearing down of King George’s statue, to New York becoming the first capital of the United States
We’ll walk the Revolutionary streets of:
Bowling Green, where rebels toppled the king’s statue, Fraunces Tavern, where George Washington said farewell to his officers, Federal Hall, where Washington was inaugurated as the first president, Trinity Church, where Alexander Hamilton is buried abd Stone Street, New York’s oldest block
Along the way, you’ll see how much history is hiding in plain sight — and how you can photograph it all with your phone.
