Mix Vault by Mastering The Mix is a different approach to EQ for mixing, individual tracks, vocals, bass, drums, and mastering.
In this video, I take a look at how Mix Vault uses a frequency-shaping approach instead of the traditional EQ workflow of drawing curves and adjusting Q settings. The plugin allows you to pull frequencies forward or push them back while keeping changes level matched in real time, and its Analyze function can create a starting point based on the type of audio, genre, and material you are working with. I also look at Mix Vault on a full mix, vocal, and drum loop, along with its presets, reference track support, EQ modes, and additional controls.
Mix Vault is designed to give you a more intuitive way to shape the tonal balance of a track without relying entirely on traditional EQ curves. The Analyze function provides a starting point for different sources, including mixes, vocals, bass, drums, and music, while genre selections help determine an appropriate tonal direction. From there, you can make adjustments by ear using the available frequency bands and compare the processed signal with the original using the level-matched bypass and Delta functions.
