For some years now, this egg has been known by a few people in the community who have looked within the script code of the mission Shutdown in Halo 4. Lord Zedd has posted about it prior on Twitter in 2018, documenting that the egg is seemingly unreliable/broken and does not activate properly due to a bug with how Watchers are deployed https://x.com/zeddikins/status/1003740145181450245
I spent some hours looking in this egg to finally get this solved and documented, and have found a method to get the egg to activate without any issues. You must follow the path in the video, and ensure you kill every new wave of enemies that spawns once you destroy an orb, before you move onto the next orb. The script code is checking to ensure that all enemies are killed, and it seems the issue can arise due to how some enemies spawn in when going different routes/ not killing all the enemies before the game tries to spawn in new waves.
