It turns out all you really have to do is get a high enough clip, and drive back far enough until you get the backwards sign. Now that this track is broken, every cup in this game has a glitch on at least one of its 4 tracks.

Since the new shortcut TAS pretty much consists of only lap 1s route + the beginning of lap 2s, I wanted to see what the complete track could look like TASed. Sware decided to take a break from TASing, so I copied our collab shortcut TAS up until the ramp shortcut, then finished the rest of it on my own. Since Most of this run wasnt collaborative, I dont think its as optimized as the shortcut TAS, but Im pretty satisfied with how it turned out. A few turns still look pretty ugly to my eyes, though, like the turn after the SC ramp (I had to go wide to avoid the weird collision of the wall). To put into perspective just how ridiculously overpowered all of these TAS exclusive strats and optimizations are, this comes within .5 of the RTA shortcut WR.

I dont think Im going to finish this run because of how annoying this track is to TAS, but I thought I should still upload it just to show the strats. It also goes without saying that this is easily one of the best looking custom tracks ever made, so this video can also serve as a CT showcase, since the upscaled Dolphin recording shows a lot of details you wont see when playing on Wii. Im not sure how much of these strats are worth going for RTA, but the rock bounce trick isnt all that precise, so I can definitely see this being used. I have absolutely no idea why the creator made these barely reachable honeycomb arches trickable, but they make for some pretty cool shortcuts.

The water tunnel section probably looks extremely weird, but the water current already pushes you at max vehicle speed, so wheelies are unnecessary, and I found it was actually slightly faster to just hug the wall. Tricking also seems to lose a small amount of time. The speedometer says 84, but the games calculation of vehicle speed doesnt always necessarily match the true speed.
I initially thought the ending cannon glitch was just a useless trick without any application, but it turns out its either equal to landing in bounds, if not slightly faster.
