And now for something a little different. New Testament Hat World - also known as Boushi Sekai, or 新約・帽子世界
Hat World is a freeware Japanese indie RPG with a great turn-based combat system. This boss duo was the most fun fight I had so far, so here's some footage.

Reading someone's mind and exposing their thoughts is an infuriating ability, and Violette does this the entire battle. She counters every tactic you try, even going out of her way to interrupt your combos and hitting you with attacks you're vulnerable to. She also counters/reflects most physical and magical attacks you throw at her, the latter being really bad. Healing your fighters frequently is safe, she can't counter that one - keeping your health high by not provoking too many counters is a winning strategy (with the downside that too much healing keeps your OS gauge low). Occasionally she buffs her attack which should be dispelled ASAP, for example with Earth magic level 4. The worst thing is her "oversoul" attack - I have found no good strategy against it, except hoping that your girls develop a "mikiri" immunity by pure chance. OS lowering attacks don't land that often, at least for me. And going too hard on damaging her just provokes a million counters and fills her OS even faster.
I got bodied a few times and decided to turn the tables on her, by using counters myself. Since counters apply to your own heals/buffs and also let you start combos, it's a ton of fun and quite viable.
Next is Primrose, known for her hot blood, potty mouth and awesome themesong. Thankfully she's very brittle with just 10000 hit points, and her dangerous oversoul can be dealt with using OS down attacks. If you're unlucky she petrifies you, which didn't happen on my attempt here.
Also, days after watching the fight again, I noticed that some of your abilities have the "uncounterable" trait and I never used them... yikes. About the only advantage of getting countered on purpose is to fill up your OS faster, and usually Violette will just snipe your weak characters. However, you can use the life formation and the OOS part that prevents OS loss on death...
