One year after the events of Borderlands 3, Tediore CEO Susan Coldwell sends her army to invade the planet Promethea and the orbiting headquarters of Atlas, looking for a vault key held by CEO Rhys Strongfork. Caught in the middle are recently fired research scientist Anu, her brother Octavio, and his boss Fran. Together with the assassin bot L0U13, they find themselves in possession of the vault treasure Tediore is looking for, a crystal that can heal people from a distance and even raise the dead.
