In this fifth episode of my 1978 Kawasaki KH250 revival saga, I attempt to get the old two-stroke running properly after discovering in the last episode that it probably wasn’t firing on all three cylinders!
Armed with new spark plugs and a few extra bits and pieces, I head back into the garage hoping for a quick fix… but as always with old motorcycles, one problem leads to another. After replacing the plugs, I discover even more leaks and begin to suspect the carburettors are going to need a full refurbishment — which may well be beyond my extremely questionable mechanical abilities!
So, could expert help be required in the next episode? Quite possibly…
As ever, this is a light-hearted and honest look at classic motorcycle ownership, complete with bodging, optimism, setbacks and the occasional success.
