I think if new (and experienced) pilots expected this, far fewer pilots would quit. It's the emotional cycle of change. That means we will progress through uninformed optimism, informed pessimism, the valley of despair (the dreaded middle part), informed optimism, and finally success and fulfillment (if we make it that far). I wanted to discuss what that journey looks like for new pilots and some strategies to cope so that you don't give up in the middle.
