Mercedes-Benz has begun building high-performance batteries for its all-electric luxury EQS sedan at its Stuttgart-Hedelfingen facility in Germany's Untertürkheim, ahead of the car's global premiere on April 15, 2021. The EQS ushers in a new age of high-performance electric cars, with a range of more than 700 kilometers (based on WLTP) thanks to a high-efficiency engine and advancements in battery energy density. The Hedelfingen facility has been turned into an essential element of the company's worldwide battery manufacturing network after smoothly integrating battery production with current transmission production.
