INDIA IS COMING FOR THE UTE MARKET! 🇮🇳
The new Mahindra Lifestyler, also known as the Mahindra Scorpio Lifestyler, has been revealed and it could be a seriously interesting new option for Australian ute buyers.
We got our first look at it in Mumbai, covering the design, likely 2.2L turbo-diesel engine, expected 3.5-tonne towing capacity, 1-tonne payload and its Scorpio-based underpinnings.
Mahindra clearly has some big targets in mind. The Lifestyler will go up against Chinese utes like the GWM Cannon and BYD Shark 6, while also competing with the Ford Ranger, Toyota HiLux, Isuzu D-MAX and Kia Tasman.
Perhaps most interestingly, pricing in India is expected to start from around 19 lakh, or under $30,000 AUD. If Mahindra can keep it affordable when it comes to Australia, this could seriously shake up the ute market.
