The Headworks Facility is where the wastewater flow enters the treatment plant, and debris (such as bricks) and grit (like sand) are removed. This process is critical to protect downstream equipment, help control odors, and ensure that the SEP can operate efficiently. The New Headworks Facility Project has been making steady progress constructing a new Headworks Facility.
