But as they approached the final hour, thick cumulus clouds started creeping toward the pad. These clouds can trigger natural electrical discharge around a rocket, and NASA has incredibly strict safety rules about launching through them. Just when everyone thought the weather might clear, a cruise ship wandered into the keep-out zone downrange. That alone forced a scrub. So November 9 disappeared, and the mission moved to the next available window.
