After Effects now has the "Content Aware Fill" from Photoshop! This is a new feature that will help you easily make cleanplates and remove objects without the need to leave After Effects. Although not perfect, it's great for simple cleanups and is a right step in the right direction. You'll need After Effects CC 16.1 or above.
