You will notice that all four of the colors in this soap were at a different thickness when I poured them. See if you can figure out what went wrong! Hint: it's not the recipe!!

Like many of you, I have been thinking about formulating a new recipe without olive oil and cocoa butter since they have become so expensive with worldwide shortages. Any recipe I use must also be slow to trace so that it works for intricate swirls or other techniques that require plenty of pouring time!

Here's the recipe I created:
35% rice bran oil
25% sweet almond oil
25% coconut oil
10% refined shea butter
5% babassu oil

Lye concentration: 1.9 parts water to 1 part lye (1.9:1)
Superfat: 5%
