The first hollow concrete block was designed by Harmon S. Palmer in 1890 but it really hasn't changed much since then in either composition or shape. In this video, I discuss all the various types of CMU blocks and the new blocks that are being designed around the world. I cover the block ARMO system from Mexico, the Habiterra blocks from China, and the Mineral Built blocks from Austin, Texas....and for fun, I 3D printed smaller versions of the Mineral Built blocks!
