Following our journey moving from London UK to building a home in the USA (America)
We are (attempting) to build our first (US) home and we are now on week 34 of our new build with no walls and no closing date. After being told an 8-month build time we had perfectly matched that up with our Rental Lease coming to an end. This has now turned into a bit of a nightmare, with our landlord now wanting to sell the house we live in and Woodside homes not giving us any closing dates.
This is our first US home buying experience and it is not going very well and is not particularly enjoyable. The frustrating part is we have followers and friends who had started months after us in the exact same location who are due to complete before us. Which makes it hard to believe Woodside Homes have managed our project correctly and is now souring the home buying experience. We had planned on buying an investment property with Woodside Homes but that will now be very unlikely unless something changes.
