If you've ever ridden in from Melbourne’s western suburbs, you'll know that riding on the road isn't always the safest. With an incomplete Federation Trail and no dedicated path in to the city, cyclists in Melbourne’s west have to contend with trucks, cars, and a lack of infrastructure.
Building the West Gate Tunnel will get trucks off local streets and onto arterial roads and freeways, which is a great start. But we're also building more than 14km of new and upgraded bike paths.
