The New Barbie Basics are finally here, and out to replace the Barbie looks. Are they too basic, or everything an adult collector could want or need to inspire creativity?
Designed by Bill Greening this reboot of sorts of the Barbie Basics features 5 Beautiful face molds, Kit, Carl, Claudette, Lea, and Heidi. The doll line features 3 different body types, Standard, Petite, and Tall and all come on an MTM or Made to Move Body with new neck peg that makes the heads easily removable. Perfect for doll customization! They feature clothing that is meant to be mixed and matched, and easily restyled with pieces you would already have in your collection as the fashions are all variations on a simple LBD, little black dress. They're $25 and you can get them on Amazon, and Mattel Creations!

The most exciting part of the new Barbie Basics line up is the just revealed on Mattel Creations Revealed Barbie Basics You Create Kits! These feature 3 different mix and match dolls, and come in 3 different skin tones, a light, a medium and a dark. There are 3 heads, 3 different body types, 3 wigs, 3 mix and match outfits, accessories and shoes! Designed by Carlyle Nuera this innovative take fashion dolls takes customization to a whole new level, and gives adult collectors a unique opportunity for creativity, and play. They cost $100 per kit!
