Built in just one month, Comet is the latest evolution of a hull design with over two decades of operational history in the U.S. Navy. The same modular, mission-configurable concept first delivered in the early 2000s now runs at 45+ knots with a 10,000 lb payload capacity, ready for MCM, EW, ASW, and beyond. Named for a Baltimore privateer, Comet is built on a simple principle: move fast and carry more.
During the War of 1812, Baltimore's privateer schooners — fast, nimble, and built to outmaneuver far larger fleets — became America's most effective asymmetric weapon at sea. The Chasseur, known as the "Pride of Baltimore," was the most feared of them all. Chaser carries that legacy forward: a modular, mission-ready USV with 40-knot sprint speed, 1,900 nmi of range, and payload flexibility that can be reconfigured in hours. Chaser is also known as GARC block 2.
