The sixth-generation E-Class has finally arrived and Mercedes has made some huge changes to its long-running executive saloon car. The latest E-Class is four-door only, with the upcoming CLE pitched as the replacement for both two-door C-Class and E-Class models.

Mercedes has sold 2.74m E-Class’ since the badge appeared on the W124 in 1993. In 2023, the E-Class has a difficult job, not just from the next BMW 5 Series and Audi A6, but from within Mercedes itself with the similarly-sized, all-electric EQE. So will the new car be a success?
