In desert heat so hot it can fry an egg on the blacktop and melt the soles off running shoes, it's a running race that National Geographic called, "The World's Toughest Foot Race." It's 146 miles from the lowest point to the highest point in the United States pushing a cart that weights 270 pounds.
Why push a cart? It's the food, water, and supplies I will need to cross the desert without any assistance or help from anyone. It's a race against the clock and the harsh environment of the Death Valley desert.
