In this edit, Aerith and Cloud are still not over Zack's death and both miss him terribly. Aerith knows she is living in the past, and realizes she never really knew Zack, even if she loved him. And that her relationship with Cloud is a lonely memory to replace Zack's presence. So she sends Cloud to a parallel timeline(or something), and gives Zack and Cloud her blessing to be together.
