Never before behind the scene footage of what went into the making of "Never Hike Alone" A Friday the 13th Fan Film"
These clips were captured by the Womp Stomp Films team of Vincente DiSanti, Andrew Leighty, JD Martz, Christopher Thellas, Kyle Klein, and Jonathan Cabrera, and Kelsey Berk on the "No Trespassing" set located in Malibu, CA.
Both No Trespassing scenes gave us a lot of trouble on this production, but the "Trail Chase" portion of it was the bane of our existence. This scene is particular was the first one ever written and was included in the earliest versions of Never Hike Alone.
This scene brought many challenges with it including at 30 minute hike up a steep mountain, ranging temperatures depending on location and day, racing the Sun to get the best light, and lots of poor planning.
Eventually, we had enough shot of what we wanted and had to figure out how to end the scene properly since we always ran out of light before we could get to the end of the scene.
Instead of wasting time and money, Vincente, JD, and Kyle took it upon themselves to go out one weekend and figure out the camera angles in the middle of the day so they could take their time and figure out the sequence of what was needed to tell the story.
Although crude, and downright funny in some parts, you can see how these test shoots were pivotal in what became the final version of this scene. This cut also features music from Friday the 13th Part III which helped set the pacing of the scene.
