NO WAY I FLUKE TWO HARDESTS IN A ROW LMAOOOO
When going for Bloodlust, I was hoping to have that as my absolute cap to 2.1, but here I am a little over a month later and I've ALREADY topped myself. I am incredibly proud of myself.
This level is many accomplishments in one for me. This is the highest placed demon on the list I have ever beaten to date, my first entry into the top 50. It also will be the level that finally pushes me into the top 1000 for the first time since maybe 2019.
This also breaks a new record of most attempts I've spent on a single level, sitting at a whopping 51,871
This level is absolutely brutal. From the moment I picked it up I knew this was in an entirely different category of difficulty from Bloodlust. The predrop is absolutely brutal, and by far the hardest part of the level imo. The wave at 10% and the two clicks before it carry so much of the difficulty when playing this level from zero, and even when you do that, the timings before the drop are still fucking hard. Especially with that double input forcing me to have to keep my hand in an unnatural resting position just to be ready to hit it.
The dual wave at the drop took absolutely forever to get consistent at. I didn't know what the fuck I was doing until maybe an hour before I finally beat it. It was a constant battle of just feeling like my muscle memory getting arbitrarily thrown off, simply because when you first learn it you have 0 clue what the fuck you are doing and just try to replicate a vague click pattern.
The wave at 37% took forever for me to get consistent at, despite generally being considered one of the easier parts of the level. So much of it feels it requires a lot of patience and thought in your inputs, especially not clicking too early jittering through that gap at 40.
The dual ship at 51% is super consistent, other than the first input which I constantly found myself clicking either too early or too late. It honestly felt like a gamble
I was somehow amazingly consistent at the 58% UFO, despite it honestly being probably the hardest part of drop imo. The timings in this part are brutal, but completely fair. Very satisfying to pull off.
The spider dual honestly wasn't too hard but I just died to it a few times because I am a tad stupid.
I died at 70% 5x before fluking, those two wave clicks are way harder than they appear.
The last cube before the post drop is FILLED with incredibly hard timings, mainly the orange orb into the green orb being SUPER hard to get good at. I am very lucky to have not died here.
Now, the infamous 80-100. While I don't think its harder than the predrop, its still easily the 2nd hardest part of the level imo. It seems crazy that I fluked all this, but in all honesty I overpracticed this section of the level a SHIT ton, to where I even said a few days ago that if I got here I had a 1/3 chance of beating it. Still an incredible achievement to have not died here. Almost every input except for a few are incredibly difficult, with the wave being the nastiest before the ship imo. Then you get to the infamous ship, which has some INSANE momentum based difficulty. The first two inputs, one being a release timing, are so fucking hard to get good at, and I would die here over and over and over again in runs. Then beyond that you have to basically find weird tricks to help yourself get the momentum to not hit corners of blocks. 92 is a massive chokepoint here that honestly is a bit of a cointoss.
While I think this level's deco is amazing, and every individual gameplay section is fun, I do wish this level was balanced better. It was a bit rough on me grinding for hours and only getting to the drop a handful of times. If that blue orb click before the drop was nerfed on its own, the predrop would already be 10x more consistent. Despite this though I still ultimately had a pretty good time with this level, and would recommend it as long as you keep these things in mind.
GG, next on my radar is Edge of Destiny :)

KneeVan actually finishes a layout! I am very proud of this and hopefully I can actually place decently well in the gameplay competition. The only restriction was that I had to use only 2 gamemodes, and so I am impressed I was able to not only finish a layout but not lose inspiration one time while doing so.
