Neural DSP says CorOS 4.1.0 is its biggest CorOS update yet — and there’s a lot to unpack. Mitch Gallagher sits down with Ryan Morgan from Neural DSP to explore what’s new for the Quad Cortex and Quad Cortex mini, including expanded plugin compatibility, device presets, eight new virtual devices, dual footswitch assignments, i/o and global EQ presets, and new functionality in Cortex Control 4.1.0. CorOS 4.1.0 adds compatibility for five additional X-updated plugins:
• Archetype: John Mayer X
• Archetype: Petrucci X
• Archetype: Misha Mansoor X
• Archetype: Rabea X
• Archetype: Tim Henson X
Together, these bring more than 70 additional amps, cabs, and effects to Quad Cortex and Quad Cortex mini for users who own the corresponding plugin licenses.
Ryan also demonstrates several of the update’s new sounds and workflow features, including Archetype: John Mayer X tones, glitch, multivoicer, arpeggio delay, crystal delay, ring modulator, device presets, dual footswitch assignments, and Cortex Control’s new multiple-device management.
And even if you don’t own any of the newly compatible plugins, CorOS 4.1.0 still includes eight new Virtual Devices available to all Quad Cortex and Quad Cortex mini users.
