Tonight’s WWE Raw was actually a damn good show, and it all came down to an incredible main event between the Lucha Brothers. Penta vs. Rey Fenix delivered exactly what you’d expect from these two, with insane athleticism, brutal moments, huge near falls and an ending that puts Penta directly in the World Heavyweight Championship picture against Roman Reigns. Penta gets the win and will challenge Roman when WWE returns to Mexico City.
But then there’s Netflix. WWE gave us a violent backstage attack involving Royce Keys and OTM taking out The Usos, and Netflix once again blurred the blood. I understand wanting to control what gets shown, but when you're presenting professional wrestling, blood and violence have always been part of the presentation. Seeing parts of the action suddenly pixelated is distracting as hell.
Despite that, I really enjoyed this episode of Raw. Penta and Rey Fenix absolutely delivered, Roman Reigns is now waiting for Penta in Mexico, the Royce Keys/OTM story is getting interesting, and there was plenty of other stuff to talk about.
