Calls are growing for a cease-fire across the Israel-Lebanon border to halt the missile attacks that have claimed more than 600 lives in three days. The proposal was put forward by the United States and France, and has been endorsed by countries including Germany.

The Israeli prime minister's office dismissed reports about a cease-fire proposal between Israel and Hezbollah: "The report on a cease-fire is not true." Israel's Foreign Minister Israel Katz posted on social media that a truce was not going to happen until the country achieved "total victory."
