Stateless Code | Nerd Christmas 2022 - Ruby 3.2 Released! @StatelessCode | Uploaded December 2022 | Updated October 2024, 23 minutes ago.
Merry Christmas to everybody from Stateless Code. Back in 2020 we did a Christmas episode for the release of Ruby 3.0. Last year, we were in the middle of doing the Getting Started with Rails 7 series and didn't get around to doing a Christmas episode. This year we're back at it and hope to make an ongoing tradition out of it.
We begin by reflecting on the incarnation of Jesus Christ and how Jesus is continuing to change the world without the use of force or the sword. American Christians need to be far more concerned with loving our neighbors and acknowledging the rule of Jesus in our hearts and less concerned with trying to rule over our neighbors. The incarnation continues to turn the world upside-down, but it's not at all a kingdom like Caesar's.
After that we take a look at the Ruby 3.2 release notes on Ruby's website and call out other resources that will be helpful to you.
Finally, we install Ruby 3.2 using RVM and take a quick look at the IRB console. We add items to the backlogs of NerdDice and NerdDice.com to upgrade and/or accommodate the new release.
This video covers:
