Nepos of Arsinoe Egypt was a third century bishop/overseer who wrote something called the 'Refutation of the Allegorizers.' He stood against the allegorical approach to scripture that people such Clement, Origen, and Dionysius of Alexandria promoted. Nepos taught the thousand year reign that the Apostle John was inspired to write about in the Book of Revelation. He was a well respected Christian leader who had laying on of hands succession from the apostles. Nepos was succeeded by Macarius of Edessa. Nepos contended for the faith once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3).
