An overflowing lake on the Nepal-China border briefly halted rescue operations on Friday as authorities and survivors feared a second flash flood.

Rescues have since resumed, but the risk of more flooding has not gone away.

Nepal alone says it lost almost 400 people and almost 2,000 are missing.
