The death toll in Nepal's flash flood has risen to more than 1 000, as rescuers use heavy machinery, helicopters and excavators to find those still missing.
Specialised rescue teams from China, India and Nepal have built temporary bridges to reach remote areas, digging through the ruins of hydropower projects in the Himalayas to free close to 300 workers trapped inside tunnels.
Officials say at least 639 people remain trapped in several damaged hydropower stations, now the focus of rescue operations.
