Basically
The girl’s name is Heart. She was adopted by Spade to be his apprentice because we need someone worthy of the ✨c a r d s✨. So he just raises her and teaches her about the fate card game reading thing I don’t have a name for.
BUT.
In order to become a true card master, your card reading has to be pure. Heart wants her cards read, so she asks Spade and he does it.
Let’s just say it wasn’t pure and the deed was done.
And this whole time Heart is just like “oh you’re killing me? Okay well if the cards say so it’s fine :]”
Yeah Spade’s not too happy with this.
