NEON WASTE: BROADCAST ZERO | Episode 8 - "96 Hours"
The countdown begins.
Without warning, devices belonging to the survivors and those closest to them begin displaying the same impossible message: ninety-six hours. It doesn't matter whether they are connected to a network, attached to a power source, or even capable of functioning. Somehow, the countdown continues to run.
Determined to find answers before time runs out, the survivors push deeper into the mysteries surrounding the Church of AI and the hidden connections tying their lives together. Zev takes a dangerous gamble by infiltrating the Church itself, posing as a priest in hopes of uncovering information that was never meant to leave its walls.
What he learns is troubling.
As masked and heavily armed priests begin appearing throughout the Dead Thread District in growing numbers, it becomes increasingly difficult to determine whether the Church is simply expanding its presence or actively searching for something. Unwilling to take the risk, Zev and Eagle retreat into the tunnels beneath the city, hoping to avoid unwanted attention while they piece together what they've learned.
Beneath Kronos, they find a different kind of danger. Left behind in the aftermath of humanity's war against AI, abandoned nanites have spent years evolving into something far more dangerous than anyone intended. What was once discarded as technological waste has become something else entirely.
With the clock now running and every answer leading to new questions, the survivors find themselves caught between buried secrets, growing conspiracies, and the consequences of a war that may never have truly ended.
Because in Kronos, sometimes finding out who you are means discovering why you were created in the first place.
