The city of Kronos is unraveling.
As Inner City Security launches a district-wide lockdown in search of a missing Zero Circle priest, the residents of the Velvet Bar find themselves caught in the middle of an investigation that quickly becomes far more complicated than anyone expected. What begins as a routine security sweep soon exposes cracks in the systems that govern the city, forcing several members of the party to confront an impossible truth: their memories no longer match their records.
While Jux, Daze, and Kix find themselves detained and questioned by authorities, each is forced to reckon with a version of themselves that exists only within their Neuralink records. Careers have changed, affiliations have disappeared, and entire portions of their personal histories have been rewritten. The city insists these records are accurate. Their memories insist otherwise.
Elsewhere, old ghosts refuse to stay buried. Kix revisits a desperate search for proof that Emma was listening. Sabine is forced to relive the captivity that left both physical and emotional scars she still carries today. Daze encounters the Pale Rider once more, waking from the experience with more questions than answers. Meanwhile, Raven receives an assassination contract unlike anything he has ever encountered. Armed with a rare Daughters of Glass poison, detailed surveillance data, and instructions that seem to predict the future, he begins to suspect that someone is orchestrating events from behind the curtain.
As the lockdown stretches on and tensions rise throughout the district, rumors spread of disappearances, altered records, and people who seem to vanish from history altogether. By the time the party is reunited, the question is no longer whether something is wrong within Kronos. The question is how deep the corruption goes.
