In this clip of my interview with Ky Dickens, host and producer of The Telepathy Tapes podcast, she describes how making this podcast, and encountering the non-verbal autistic kids it features, ended up shattering her worldview.
We also discuss the ontological implications of psi capabilities, and how each person has to confront the resulting shock in their own way.
She relates how she was raised in a religious home, and had difficulty with matters of faith and spirit after the trauma she experienced after coming out as a gay woman.
Dickens also describes how a production assistant on her team was ultimately convinced that the kids' claims of talking with human spirits from beyond death when one of the kids revealed -- with no way of knowing the circumstances -- that the assistant's resident "angel" was in fact the daughter he and his partner hadn't named -- one who'd died before birth.
