Neil Young | Heart Of Gold | Drum Cover (CC Lyrics)
I chose to do this cover simply because it's so smooth and relaxing to play. Getting those ghost notes to sound nice is still a challenge and a lot of work for me. As you may have noticed there is some flaming sometimes... Due to the fact that I only had one monitor in my ear to work with I couldn't hear the music very well. (...and the reason for only one monitor is because I needed to hear myself sing.) and yes... I have much work to do on my timing. Stef and I play this song at live shows so I figured... why not cover it! For those of you who don't know. I've been a singer songwriter for a number of years now. I have only started to sing and play drums together for the past year or so... I will be singing more in future covers.. It has always been one of my goals to sing and play :) So yeah.. Will be sharing more with you all very soon!
The video was recorded a few weeks back, before I had my minor foot surgery.. I didn't really like the lighting and the shakiness of the camera and of course some flaming at some parts of the drum track. I wanted to do a better quality video like I did with the last cover I posted... But... I took a listen to the video once again last night and figured... why not share this one just the same.. It's ok if it's not perfect.. I know I still put my heart in this song :)
