Even in the mid-game, the Lotus Elise is still a cheat code. I proceed to conquer the Downtown area of Palmont where Kenji's Bushido is dominant. Unlike the USA run of this game, all races this time are handled by @iDestyKK alone. Lessons were learned: Don't try drifting with the Lotus. The area flew by because I just spammed Colin in every race I could.
