I did one of these reward card guide videos at the start of the year for one of the game's hardest reward cards "Career Mogul." Which requires you to have a balance of $1,000,000. But there's several other reward cards that are also very hard, or at the very least tedious to get, one of them is "Iron Wall." Which requires you to win 20 defensive races in career mode. In NFS Carbon you win races to take over rival territory, one area at a time, to eventually rule all of Palmont City. But sometimes your rivals will want that turf back & challenge you for it, which is what defensive races are. Accepting them is optional, but if you don't then you automatically forfeit control of the race you were being challenged for. If there was a race in that area you haven't conquered yet when doing this, then you also forfeit majority control of that whole area. Most areas have a total of 3 races while a select few will just have 2. You have to win atleast 2/3 races in an area to control it. And for the areas with just 2 races, you have to win both of them. Meaning you'll have to do some defensive races whether you want to or not, as you have to have control of all areas of a certain part of the city before that area's boss will challenge you. The chance of a defensive race being triggered is completely random and it seems that getting 20 defensive races naturally before completing career mode seems to almost never happen. Because once you complete career mode to 100%, you stop getting defensive races since you now have control of everything, then you won't be able to get the reward card.

I've beaten this game so many times now that I've completely lost track, and I've only ever gotten this reward card once, which was when I beat this game on the PS3 version for my first time. But that was prior to figuring out the system. Since learning how the system works, I've gotten it twice more already, 3 times after recording this video. Winning 20 defensive races isn't the hard part of this challenge, the hard part is figuring out how to game the system so that you actually get 20 defensive races before the end of the game. In this video, you'll see how I learned the system and what you need to do to get it yourself as this is one of 4 reward card tasks needed to unlock Cross's Chevrolet Corvette Z06. And this is easily the hardest of the 4 so if you can get this one, you'll have no trouble getting the other 3 to unlock this highly sought after car. Also I would've recorded this on the PS3 version for better quality. But my PS3 copy of the game now suffers, a more common than I thought fate, where the sound cuts out during any of the tutorial videos before the game ultimately freezes at the end of said video. The ones that introduce you to drifting, canyon duels, and how taking over territories works at the end of the career tutorial. So I sadly can't start any more new careers on the PS3 version, so I had to do this one on the PS2. And that will remain the case for any future videos I do on this game in career mode that involves having to make a new save file. And I'd love to do atleast a few more reward card guide videos on this game at some point.
