This is the sunset from near-space at 100,000+ ft. A group of us launched a capsule with 3 GoPro cameras into the stratosphere from Itasca, TX using a weather balloon.

The crazy thing is that according to what we read online, the space capsule was only supposed to land at maximum 75 miles from the launch location and 3 hours later...but instead we woke up 14 hours later to the last GPS location showing that it landing 550 miles away in the US military's White Sands Missile Range. So I was on the phone with military bases in the area and when they couldn't find it I hit the road with a buddy of mine and drove the 550 miles that day to New Mexico, hiked 2 miles into the desert, and brought home our space capsule.

GPS data from Garmin Forerunner 910XT running watch that we put in the space capsule: connect.garmin.com/activity/537398688
