Maddie Brooks lives in New York City and works at a dead-end job. She just broke up with her cheating fiancé and high school sweetheart, Cooper. In her sadness, she reminisces on the whereabouts of her long-lost childhood crush, Bobby Browning. She Googles Bobby and finds out he is now a successful photographer and will be back in their hometown promoting his work. Maddie realizes she picked the wrong guy in high school, and decides to travel back to her hometown to make things right. Instead, she finds out Bobby is currently engaged to Blake and they are getting married soon. Determined to rekindle the old flame with Bobby, and not let anyone know her life is in the gutter, Maddie announces that she is getting married too.
