1 1/2 cup flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup (8g) freeze dried strawberries
1 cup butter or margarine
1 2/4 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 egg yolk
2 tsp vanilla
red food coloring
2TBSP cocoa powder
350F 10-11 minutes
A beautiful and FUN cookie recipe. The classic combination of strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla is a favorite of many. I was finally able to use freeze dried strawberries, an ingredient I've wanted to experiment with for a while. Plus you can't go wrong with chocolate. This recipe is a little more hands-on than a typical drop cookie but so worth it, especially for the holidays. Anyone would love this on a cookie platter or shared at a Christmas cookie exchange. Like many cookie recipes, this dough freezes beautifully. Make a batch for quick and easy gifts or for entertaining.
