WHAT IS THE BUILDING BRIDGES SERIES, AND WHY WAS IT CREATED?
The Building Bridges Series is an opportunity for people with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to come together for meaningful conversations. We created the series because stronger communities are built when people have opportunities to listen to one another, better understand different perspectives, and learn how to work together.
The goal is not for everyone to agree. It is about developing a better understanding of one another and strengthening our ability to have productive conversations, even when we see things differently.
WHAT CAN PARTICIPANTS EXPECT WHEN THEY TAKE PART IN THE SERIES?
Participants can expect interactive conversations rather than traditional presentations or lectures. We will explore some of the things that can make communication difficult, including our assumptions, experiences, and the way we interpret what others say.
Participants will have opportunities to listen, share their own perspectives, and practice practical skills that can help them communicate more effectively. What they learn can be applied not only in the workplace, but also in everyday interactions and throughout our community.
