NBCSN suffered technical problems and went dark during its broadcast of the 2019 St. Petersburg Grand Prix. The feed was dropped during a side-by-side commercial break and NBCSN quickly opted for full screen commercials to hide the problem. A plethora of advertisements ensued.
Not knowing how long it would take to fix the issue, the broadcast returned in the form of an aerial picture of the St. Petersburg skyline accompanied by a muffled radio-like broadcast of the on-track action. After 13 minutes (15 laps) of darkness, the feed was finally restored.
@IndyCar said there was "a power supply failure to one of IMS Productions' uplinks due to two amplifiers overheating."
